Blue Jays Injury Update: Jose Reyes sits after hurting knee

Toronto Blue Jays shortstop Jose Reyes will not start Sunday afternoon because of a sore knee suffered during a Saturday afternoon at bat. He is listed as day-to-day. Munenori Kawasaki will lead off and play shortstop according to the lineup the Blue Jays released late Sunday morning.

SportsNet reporter Barry Davis spoke with Reyes early Sunday morning. Reyes expects to sit out the entire game on Sunday.
Reyes fouled a ball off his left knee while batting in the top of the fifth in Saturday's loss to the Reds. The video shows the ball hit the back of his left knee. He finished the at bat but came out of the game immediately afterward. Steve Tolleson took over at shortstop in the bottom of the fifth.'s Gregor Chisholm says that manager John Gibbons expects Reyes back in the lineup Monday night when the A.L.East-leading Blue Jays travel back to Toronto for a divisional battle with the second-place New York Yankees.
