Falcons Injury Update: Julio Jones participates in OTAs

By on 6/09/2014 02:00:00 PM

Organized team activities continue this week, and players injured during the 2013 season continue to grace the 2014 practice field with their presence. One such player to do so, has been Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones, who has been “running around out there like a big kid” according to Vaughn McClure of ESPN.

Jones has spent the last months rehabbing a broken screw in his now twice-repaired left foot. The injury cost him the vast majority of the 2013 season, and was one of the many reasons for the Falcons surprising 4-12 record.

However, Jones has been making significant progress and though he's not expected to be a major part of team activities until training camp, his mere presence at OTA's is a welcome sign for Atlanta.

Quarterback Matt Ryan, and the Falcons as a whole, should have a major bounce back year with their top receiver back in the game. They will look to regain the NFC South title, as well as their claim as one of the most dangerous teams in the NFL.
