By on 6/10/2014 09:45:00 PM

After sitting out three games, Nationals third baseman Anthony Rendon is back in the lineup for Tuesday night's game against lefty Madison Bumgarner and the San Francisco Giants, reports Adam Kilgore of The Washington Post. The right-handed Rendon, who is hitting .272/.328/.470 (OPS+ 119) with nine homers and 34 RBI, was drilled by a sharp line drive in Friday night's game against the San Diego Padres.

Rendon, 24, was the Nationals' 2011 first-round draft pick, making his debut April 21, 2013 and hitting 265/.329/.396 in his rookie season. Rendon signed a four-year $7.2 million contract with the Nats ($6 million bonus) that pays him $2.7 million in 2014. He is pre-arb and under team control through 2019.
