Orioles Injury Update: Bud Norris exits early

By on 6/22/2014 09:30:00 AM

Orioles starting pitcher Bud Norris exited Saturday afternoon's game early with tightness in his right groin. Norris said he dealt with some left groin issues in the past, but never has experienced right groin issues until Saturday. After going five innings and throwing 85 pitches he exited and was replaced by Ryan Webb.

The 29-year-old, six year veteran, has a 45-54 record with a 4.29 ERA. Those are not great numbers, however, he has only been improving. This year he is 7-5 with a 3.62 ERA and a 1.161 WHIP, which makes him a reliable pitcher in the middle of the rotation. As long as he returns from his injury and stays healthy; he should remain in the starting rotation. The Orioles are optimistic he will make his next start.
