By on 6/07/2014 10:00:00 PM

The Philadelphia Phillies lost to the Cincinnati Reds on Saturday by the score of 6-5. The Phillies had chances late in the game, but had two potential runs thrown out at the plate. Marlon Byrd, Jimmy Rollins and Carlos Ruiz homered for the Phillies, who dropped to 25-35 on the season. The Phillies have struggled in the bullpen and there is some potential bad news, as Mike Adams has been placed on the disabled list with shoulder inflammation.

Jim Salisbury, who covers the Phillies for, tweeted the following on Adams' status.
Matt Gelb, who covers the Phillies for The Philadelphia Inquirer, also tweeted about the concerns Adams has about his shoulder.
Adams, in his 10th Major League season, appeared in only 28 games for the Phillies before an injury ended his year. He finished with a record of 1-4 with a 3.96 ERA. That's a far cry from his previous dominance with the Padres and the Rangers. Adams had bounced back this season up until this latest injury, posting a 2-1 record and a 2.12 ERA in 19 games. Adams has a career record of 21-20 with a 2.37 ERA.
