Rockies Injury Update: Michael Cuddyer held out with shoulder soreness

By on 6/08/2014 03:30:00 PM

Michael Cuddyer missed his second straight start on Saturday because he is suffering soreness in his left shoulder. This occurred while diving for a ball at third base on Thursday night. Patrick Saunders reported Cuddyer's injury.

Manager Walt Weiss commented to on Cuddyer possibly hitting the DL,"I would say 'No' right now. Tomorrow is a big day for Cuddy, to see how he feels. Tomorrow will be a test for him."

Cuddyer is 35 years old, yet his numbers keep rising. Last year he batted .331/.389/.530 with 20 home runs and 84 RBI's and this year he is right back on track, batting .317/.366/.500 with 5 home runs and 16 RBI's through 31 games. Cuddyer does not get as much recognition as he deserves because he is playing with red hot Troy Tulowitzki (.359) and slugger Carlos Gonzalez (.255). Cuddyer is key to the Rockies making a playoff run. With his confidence and experience he could take the Colorado Rockies all the way to a World Series title.
