Rockies Injury Update: Tyler Chatwood has forearm tightness after BP session

By on 6/25/2014 10:00:00 AM

Colorado Rockies pitcher Tyler Chatwood (elbow) felt tightness in his right forearm following a live batting practice session on Tuesday. This is not a good sign. Chatwood has been out of action since late April with a flexor strain and inflammation in his right elbow. It does not sound like he is fully healed yet. If he is not, he will need to undergo further testing. Hopefully the Rockies will slow down the process to make sure Chatwood comes back healthy.

This season, Chatwood is 1-0 with a 4.50 ERA. He has started four games this season. Over his four year career with the Angels and Rockies he is 20-22 with a 4.34 ERA and 1.556 WHIP. He has pitched in 70 games and has made 63 big league starts. His numbers are not great at all, but he is young and still has a lot to learn. Chatwood was drafted by the Los Angles Angels in the second round of the 2008 amateur draft. He made his debut on April 11, 2011. He will be a free agent in 2018.
