Couture suffered his hand injury from fighting Los Angeles Kings forward Mike Richards. Although Couture was considered the winner of the fight, his team still was on the losing end of one of the biggest upsets in NHL history.

The Sharks led the Kings 3-0 in the series but lost the next four games.

Couture did play in Game 7 but his presence in the lineup still couldn't help the Sharks as they lost the game 5-1.

It has been a few weeks since the Sharks' elimination from the playoffs so all they can do now is to get their players healthy and prepare them for training camp.

The Sharks will need a strong start next season to help recover from the heartbreaking loss in the playoffs so Couture's presence in the lineup will be vital.

Couture contributed three points in the seven games he played in the playoffs.
