On Saturday, the Minneapolis Star Tribune reported that Plouffe still feels discomfort when he swings a bat and won't begin baseball-related activities until the discomfort goes away. But it appears that Plouffe may have improved, as Mike Berardino, who covers the Twins at TwinCities.com, tweeted the following update on Plouffe.
Possible Trevor Plouffe will join #mntwins in Texas, skip rehab and be activated next homestand. Possible. #mntwinsPlouffe, who last played on June 14 against the Detroit Tigers, is batting .241 with five home runs and 38 RBI this season. He had a career high 24 home runs in 2012 and batted .254 with 14 home runs and 52 RBI last season. Plouffe is a career .240 hitter with 53 home runs and 183 RBI.
