Wild Injury Update: Josh Harding, Niklas Backstrom, Darcy Kuemper

By on 6/10/2014 11:00:00 AM

Minnesota Wild goaltenders Josh Harding, Niklas Backstrom, and Darcy Kuemper should be ready for training camp next season. It will be crucial for all three goalies to be healthy for the Wild due to the injuries the goalies have been through this year according to NBC sports.

Harding was stellar in the first part of this years season with 18 wins in the 29 games he played. Unfortunately, Harding has been struggling with a multiple sclerosis disease which has left him unavailable since December 31, 2013.

Wild GM Chuck Fletcher had this to say via NBC sports:"I think his battles are well chronicled and well known. I think he’s feeling well at this point in time."

If Harding can keep himself healthy and in shape for early next season, the Wild are likely to have another great start to their season. Harding had a 1.65 GA and .933 SV% in 29 games this season.

Backstrom did not have the best year with the Wild and it only got worse when he suffered an abdomen injury that has kept him out since March. However, he should be ready for training camp to back up Harding.

Rookie Kuemper stepped up big for his team this year by guiding them to the Playoffs. He suffered an upper-body injury in Game 6 against the Colorado Avalanche and he hasn't played since. Kuemper should be able to recover this offseason and be more than ready for training camp for next season.
