Astros Injury Update: Dexter Fowler still not doing baseball activities

By on 7/21/2014 11:00:00 AM

The Houston Astros used a 17-hit attack to defeat the Chicago White Sox on Sunday by the score of 11-7. The offensive outburst was good to see from an Astros team that is 23rd in the league in runs scored. Matt Dominguez and Marwin Gonzalez each had three hits for the Astros, who again played without center fielder Dexter Fowler, who still is not doing baseball activities since sustaining a muscle strain in his right side.

Our own Nathaniel Reeves reported on July 17 that Fowler, who has been on the disabled list since June 27 with an intercostal muscle strain in his right side, would not be ready to play on Friday. As it turns out, Fowler did not play all weekend and is still some time away from being ready to return to the Astros.

Evan Drellich, who covers the Astros for the Houston Chronicle, tweeted the following update on Fowler.
Fowler, in his seventh Major League season, is batting .270 with six home runs and 24 RBI this season. He's a career .270 hitter with 46 home runs and 234 RBI.
