Athletics Injury Update: Josh Reddick activated

By on 7/23/2014 07:30:00 AM

The Oakland A's entered Tuesday night's game against the Houston Astros with a record of 61-37, first in the American League East. The A's have been a powerhouse both offensively and on the mound all season, ranked second in runs scored and third in ERA. The offense should get even better, with the return of veteran outfielder Josh Reddick, who has been out with an injured right knee.

Our own Raymond Bureau reported on July 15 that Reddick, who was on the disabled list with a strained right knee, began a Minor League rehab assignment.

An update on Reddick, according to MLBRosterMoves Twitter account,
Reddick, in his sixth Major League season, is batting .229 with four home runs and 24 RBI in 54 games this season.  He had his best season in 2012 when he batted .242 with 32 home runs and 85 RBI. Reddick, who has played with the Red Sox and A's, has a career batting average of .238 with 58 home runs and 202 RBI.
