Blue Jays Injury Update: Adam Lind still has pain when running

By on 7/29/2014 12:30:00 PM

Toronto Blue Jays (57-50) first baseman Adam Lind played a simulated game yesterday, July 28th in Florida.  According to a tweet from Barry Davis, Lind felt good at the plate but his broken foot is still causing pain when he tries to run.

As reported by Darius Austin of Sports Injury Alert, Lind had been playing for almost a month with a broken toe.  This recent development may hurt the Blue Jays who are currently in second place in the AL East behind the Baltimore Orioles; they need Lind’s offense back in the lineup as soon as possible if they want to continue to be successful in the division.  In 61 games this season, Lind is batting .320/.389/.489 with four homeruns and 27 RBIs.

The Blue Jays play game two against the last place Red Sox (48-58) tonight at 7:10.  The Blue Jays hope to continue their current win streak to four games.  Rookie right handed pitcher Marcus Stroman brings a 14-inning scoreless streak to the mound tonight against the struggling Red Sox.
