Our own Rose Ingberman reported on July 18 that Gattis, who has been on the disabled list since June 29 with a bulging thoracic disc, went 0-for-4 as the designated hitter in his first rehab game at Triple-A Gwinnett on Thursday night.
Chris Cwik of CBSSports.com reported that Gattis was able to take the field in his second rehab game on Friday. He played five innings and went 0-for-2 before being taken out of the game. Barring any setbacks, Gattis is hoping to return on Monday when the Braves play the Marlins.
