Bulls Injury Update: Doug McDermott misses Saturdays game with minor foot injury

By on 7/20/2014 05:15:00 PM

The Chicago Bulls had a 48-win season in 2013-2014 and lost in the first round of the Eastern Conference playoffs against the Washington Wizards.  Although first in the league in fewest points allowed, the Bulls were dreadful on offense, 30th in the league in scoring at 93.7 points per game. In an effort to improve the offense, the Bulls acquired sharpshooter Doug McDermott, who was drafted by the Nuggets with the 11th pick in this years' NBA draft.  The bulls were without McDermott in last night's game due to a foot injury.

As reported at, the Bulls entered their fifth summer league game without McDermott, who has been playing very well, perhaps the most impressive player thus far. The foot injury is considered minor.

The injury was confirmed on the official Twitter account of the Chicago Bulls.
McDermott should be considered day-to-day and should return to the Las Vegas summer league soon, barring any setbacks.

McDermott, who played four years at Creighton, averaged 26.7 points on 52.6 percent shooting from the floor and 44.9 percent from three-point range, in 35 games last season. He averaged 21.7 points and 7.5 rebounds in 145 career games.
