Dodgers Injury Update: Chone Figgins rehab planned

By on 7/17/2014 09:00:00 PM

The Los Angeles Dodgers enter a weekend series against the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday with a 54-43 record, first in the National League West. The Dodgers hope to get healthy in the second half to hold off the Giants. One player on the disabled list who is getting closer to returning is veteran infielder Chone Figgins, who is set to begin a rehab assignment tonight with Triple-A Albuquerque.

Our own Raymond Bureau reported on July 11 that Figgins participated in fielding and batting practice. He hit from both sides of the plate and although the Dodgers were working on a rehab schedule, no final decisions were made.

Eric Stephen, of True Blue LA, tweeted the following update on Figgins.
Figgins, in his 12th Major League season, is batting .217 with three doubles and an RBI in 60 at bats.  Figgins, an All-Star in 2009, has played for the Angels,  Mariners and Dodgers. He has a career batting average of .276 with 35 home runs and 403 RBI in 1,282 games.
