Dodgers Injury Update: Hanley Ramirez exits early again with shoulder problem

By on 7/11/2014 08:00:00 AM

Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez left Thursday night's 2-1 win over the San Diego Padres in the eighth inning with a sore right shoulder, the same problem that has bothered him all season. Miguel Rojas finished the game at shortstop.

MLB.com's Ken Gurnick reports that Ramirez received a cortisone injection after the game. Ramirez has dealt with shoulder soreness (in addition to calf problems) throughout the season, causing him to miss at least parts of 18 games. He will most likely rest the shoulder over the weekend and the All-Star break and return to the lineup when the Dodgers resume play on Friday, July 18, in St. Louis.

Ramirez is hitting .275/.369/.467 with 11 HR and 48 RBI in 83 games. The Dodgers enter play on July 11 in first place in the N.L. West at 52-42, one game ahead of the San Francisco Giants.
