By on 7/19/2014 06:30:00 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday by the score of 3-2. The loss dropped the Dodgers to 54-44 on the season, tied for first with the San Francisco Giants in the National League West. On the injury front, Justin Turner was activated and entered the game as a pinch-hitter in the seventh inning. Batting for Chris Perez, Turner grounded out to second base.

Our own Darius Austin reported on July 14 that Turner started his assignment with Class A Rancho Cucamonga and was on base in all four plate appearances.  Turner played two games total for Rancho Cucamonga and went 1-for-5 with a run scored and two walks.

Bill Plunkett, who covers the Dodgers for the Orange County Register, tweeted the following on Turner's activation.
Turner, in his 6th Major League season, is batting .302 with three home runs and 21 RBI in 159 at bats.  The veteran infielder has played for the Orioles, Mets and Dodgers and has a career batting average of .267 with 11 home runs and 110 RBI.
