The Los Angeles Dodgers lost to the St. Louis Cardinals on Saturday by the score of 4-2. The loss dropped the Dodgers to 54-45, a game behind the San Francisco Giants in the National League West. With the loss came a potential injury concern, as Yasiel Puig had to be taken out of the game in the eighth inning after being hit by a pitch earlier in the game.

As reported by Alex Halsted of, Puig was hit in the left hand by a Joe Kelly change-up in the third inning of last night's game. Puig remained in the game through the seventh inning before Matt Kemp pinch hit for him in the eighth.

Puig's hand was swollen after the game, fortunately X-rays on his hand came back negative.  There is currently no timetable for Puig's return.

Puig is batting .307 with 107 hits, 12 home runs and 52 RBI, in 92 games this season. The second-year outfielder hit .319 with 19 home runs and 42 RBI as a rookie last season. He's a career .314 hitter with 31 home runs, 94 RBI and 18 stolen bases.
