Giants Injury Update: Angel Pagan could go on rehab soon

By on 7/29/2014 10:30:00 AM

The San Francisco Giants fell to two games behind the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League West with a 5-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Pirates on Monday. At 20th in the Major Leagues in runs scored, the Giants will need to increase offensive production in order to keep pace with the Dodgers in the division. One player who could provide a spark is outfielder Angel Pagan, who could go on a rehab assignment and return to the Giants soon.

Our own Raymond Bureau reported yesterday that Pagan, who last played on June 14, could begin a Minor League rehab assignment this week and return to the Giants during their next road trip.

Alex Pavlovic, who covers the Giants for the Mercury News, Bay Area News Group, tweeted the following on Pagan's status.
Pagan, in his ninth Major League season, is batting .307 with three home runs and 19 RBI in 63 games this season. The veteran outfielder has played for the Cubs, Mets and Giants and is a career .283 hitter with 49 home runs, 314 RBI and 144 stolen bases.
