By on 7/25/2014 01:30:00 PM

The San Francisco Giants are leading the National League West and are looking to gain ground on the Los Angeles Dodgers who are 1.5 games back. Brandon Belt, one of the Giants' main pieces, was hit in the head with a pitch on Saturday and is on the disabled list with a concussion. He let his manager know that the concussion like symptomshave worsened. Joe Panik, who sprained his right ankle, claimed it did not seem as bad, and it did not swell according to Henry Schulman from the San Francisco Chronicle.

Brandon Belt
The first basemen and outfielder arrived to the park on Wednesday afternoon and felt so bad he went back to his hotel, which means his concussion symptoms have worsened. It is clear that he is going to miss more games than seven and will get more tests done on Thursday. He is batting .242 with 10 home runs and 23 RBI's through 46 games this season.

Joe Panik
Panik of the Giants left Tuesday's game against the Philadelphia Phillies due to a sprained ankle. He rolled it on first base when pitcher Roberto Hernandez did not give him enough room to step on the base, as reported by our own Jacob Fagan. Panik who is a second baseman, is batting .212 with zero home runs and two RBI's in 33 at-bats. He claimed his ankle is feeling better and did not swell overnight. He is optimistic that he will be able to play soon.
