San Francisco Giants first basemen Brandon Belt has a concussion and according to Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle, will be placed on either the seven or 15-day disabled list. He suffered the injury after being struck in the face by a throw at first during batting practice prior to Saturday's game against the Marlins. Adam Duvall will be recalled from Triple-A Fresno in a corresponding move.
Belt started in the Giants’ 5-3 victory at Marlins Park but was removed in the bottom of the third inning because of dizziness. He already missed eight weeks with a fractured left thumb earlier this season after being hit by a pitch on May 9. Belt has hit .242/.304/.455 with 10 HRs and 23 RBIs in 46 games thus far this season. Duvall had three hits in 18 at-bats, including a home run, in a short five-game stint with the Giants at the end of June.
