In one of the most crowded backfields in the NFL, the New York Giants are extremely optimistic about getting David Wilson back after his neck surgery in January, reports Kevin Patra from Around the League.

The team reports to camp on Monday and Wilson will meet with doctors to undergo further tests before he participates in full contact. The Giants are confident that Wilson be ready for training camp.

A backfield that consists of former Raider, Rashad Jennings and power back Peyton Hillis, Wilson definitely has an up hill battle to fight for touches. The sooner he is fully cleared, the sooner Wilson can be the change of pace back the Giants expect him to be.

"We expect him to be playing ... allsigns are he'll be ready to go," Giants co-owner John Mara told reporters Thursday.
