Hurricanes Injury Update: Alexander Semin should be ready for training camp

By on 7/21/2014 03:00:00 PM

According to James O'Brien of NBC Sports, Carolina Hurricanes left wing Alexander Semin should be ready to play in time for training camp. Semin underwent wrist surgery at some point during this offseason to repair his wrist which had been injured for the entire season. Carolina's GM, Ron Francis, stated that Semin is "progressing as expected".

Semin, 30, had injured his wrist during the 2013 training camp, after his first season with the Hurricanes. According to GM Ron Francis, he had tried various treatments for his wrist during the season, and had been playing with a bad wrist the whole time. Inevitably, he needed surgery to repair the damage.

Despite the performance-hindering wrist injury, Semin had 22 goals and 20 assists in 65 games this season.
