Kings Injury Update: Kyle Clifford out 4-6 weeks

By on 7/19/2014 01:30:00 PM

According to Jon Rosen of LA Kings Insider, Los Angeles Kings left wing Kyle Clifford recently underwent wrist surgery. Coincidentally, the surgery was scheduled for June 24, the same day as fellow teammate Jonathan Quick. Clifford is supposed to be off the ice for 4-6 weeks for recovery, as reported by Mike Halford of NBC Sports.

Although it is currently unknown when the injury took place, 23-year-old Clifford sustained a fracture to a bone in one of his wrists, which was successfully repaired in his recent surgery.  His recovery should allow him to return in time to attend training camp with the Kings in September, without any complications.

Clifford managed three goals and five assists in 71 games in the regular season. He also contributed seven points in the 24 playoff games that led to the Kings' Stanley Cup, their second in the last three years. Last year, Clifford signed a two-year contract worth $2.15 million.
