Lions Injury Update: Joique Bell making progress

By on 7/22/2014 11:30:00 PM

This past week, Detroit Lions RB Joique Bell expressed his confidence during his recovery from a left knee injury sustained during the off-season. This comes just one week before Bell and other injured Lions are supposed to come to training camp.

In a recent article published by the Detroit Free Press, Bell was quoted saying,“I'm making a lot of progress, a lot of progress. Actually started back running full speed, got cleared for full go probably two weeks, a week after minicamp. I'm feeling 100%. I'm feeling great."

Last season Bell amassed 650 yards and 8 touchdowns rushing, while proving extremely valuable out of the backfield for the Lions with 53 receptions for 547 yards in 2013. In response, the Lions offered and signed a 3-year, $9.30 million contract with Bell on March 12th of this year, which includes a $3,000,000 signing bonus and $4,300,000 in guaranteed money.

According to Free Press, “Bell started his MMA training before season and said he likes all-encompassing nature of the work and that it’s easy on his joints. He also enjoyed having his 8-year-old son, Jordan, tag along in California.”

With approximately one week till Bell has to report to training camp, Lions’ fans and players should definitely feel optimistic. Along with Bell will be veteran Reggie Bush and young RB Theo Riddick, both of whom have been given Bell’s vote of confidence.
