Scott Rice
Rice has pitched in 32 games and 13.2 innings this season. He has a 1-2 record with a weak 5.93 ERA for the struggling Mets. In two Major League seasons he is 5-7 with a 4.18 ERA over 64.2 innings pitched. It was announced on Tuesday by Marc Carig that he would need to undergo elbow surgery that will end his season.

Ruben TejadaThe 24-year-old has played in 86 games this season. He has sruggled at the plate again this season battting .236/.357/.293 in 259 at-bats. He has two home runs along with 22 RBI's. On Monday, Tejada was hit by a fifth-inning pitch on the left hand. It was swollen, but the shortstop indicated that he did not need X-Rays on his hand. Tejada should be okay as reported by Adam Rubin.
