Orioles Injury Update: Bud Norris hopes to return Monday

By on 7/04/2014 07:00:00 AM

The Baltimore Orioles got a solid outing from starter Bruce Chen on Thursday in the Orioles 5-2 win over the Texas Rangers. Chen allowed just two runs on six hits in six innings to pick up his 8th win of the season. The win improved the Orioles to 46-39 on the season, first in the American League East. Ranked 20th in the Major Leagues in team ERA, the Orioles should get a boost to the staff with the return of starter Bud Norris, who hopes to come off the disabled list on Monday.

Our own Keri Carbaugh reported on Wednesday that Norris continued to be bothered by a groin strain, which has kept him from pitching since June 21.

Roch Kubatko, who covers the Orioles for MASNsports, tweeted the following update on Norris.
Norris, in his sixth Major League season, is 7-5 with a 3.62 ERA in 14 starts this season. He went a combined 10-12 with a 4.18 ERA last year with the Astros and Orioles. Norris has a career record of 45-54 with a 4.29 ERA
