Panthers' Coach Ron Rivera says the injury is not considered to be serious. Stewart injured his hamstring while training a week-and-a-half ago.
Stewart is expected to split carries with DeAngelo Williams again this season. Nobody questions his talent, but the problem has been his health. He's missed 17 games the past two seasons, averaging just 3.65 yards-per-carry, while battling ankle and knee issues.
Jonathon Jones from The Charlotte Observer reports that the Panthers could have placed Stewart on the non-football injury list because the injury was suffered before the players reported for camp, but that would have kept him from participating in team meetings or walk-throughs.
Ironically, Stewart confessed to doing yoga and stretching more in an effort to improve his durability.
