Patriots Injury Update: Aaron Dobson could be ready for training camp

By on 7/11/2014 01:00:00 PM

After months of doubt, it now appears New England Patriots wide receiver Aaron Dobson could in fact be ready for training camp.

Dobson injured his foot against Denver in the Patriots' week 12 matchup. He missed three weeks and returned only to re-injure himself in week 17 against Buffalo. Dobson returned yet again in the AFC title game but only played 21 snaps.

In March, he underwent surgery on the foot and was given a two to three month window of recovery, which should have put him back in action in time for minicamp. It didn't.

Part of Dobson's issues could be traced to the initial decision to delay the surgery, as it was believed that the injury could heal naturally.

At any rate, Dobson and his 37 catches for 519 yards and 4 touchdowns should be back on the field for the Patriots sooner rather than later, which will only aid the second-year wideout as he looks to improve on his rookie year.
