Patriots Injury Update: Rob Gronkowski cleared for training camp

By on 7/23/2014 07:00:00 PM

After suffering everything from back problems, to a torn ACL at the end of last season, doctors have cleared Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski to participate in Patriots training camp.

Gronkowski has not played a full season since 2011 due to injuries.  He was limited in mini camp for the Patriots, resting his torn ACL.

According to the Boston Globe, his teammates are just as happy for Gronkowski to be on the field as he is.

“It’s a positive,” veteran guard Logan Mankins said in the article. “We were all hoping Gronk would have a good recovery and so far he has. We’ll just see where he is, how good he is right now.

Quarterback Tom Brady was also happy about the matter, saying in the article “It’s great to have him out there – he’s a dynamic blocker, he does a great job in the blocking, and he’s a big target for Tom (Brady) to get the ball to and he gets open. Anytime you can have Gronk on the field, it’s great.”

Hopefully for the Patriots though, Gronkowski will be healthy for a full season for the first time since 2011.  As been the majority of the Patriots' offence since he became a starter.
