Phillies Injury Update: Marlon Byrd sits after fouling ball off foot

The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the New York Mets on Tuesday y the score of 6-0. Cole Hamels scattered six hits and struck out eight in eight innings to pick up his sixth win of the season. Chase Utley provided the big blow with a grand slam home run in the seventh inning. The Phillies, who improved to 47-60 on the season, were without right fielder Marlon Byrd, who was out with a sore foot.

Jim Salisbury, who covers the Phillies for, tweeted the following on Byrd's status.
Grady Sizemore, who started in right field in place of Byrd, homered in four at bats. Ben Revere started in center and Domonic Brown was in left.

Byrd, who is one of many Phillies' whose name has come up in trade talks, is batting .273 with 20 home runs and 60 RBI this season. He's on pace to pass his career high in home runs of 24, which he hit last year while with the Mets and Pirates. The 13-year veteran has played for the Phillies, Nationals, Rangers, Cubs, Red Sox, Mets and Pirates and has a career batting average of .279 with 126 home runs and 593 RBI.
