Our own Darius Austin reported on July 20 that Rios hurt his right ankle in the first inning of the previous night's game when his cleat got caught in the dirt in the batter's box and rolled it. X-rays were negative and he was considered day-to-day.

The veteran outfielder has played with the Blue Jays, White Sox and Rangers and has a career batting average of .280 with 165 home runs, 750 RBI and 243 stolen bases.
