Rockies Injury Update: Carlos Gonzalez scratched

Carlos Gonzalez of the Rockies is out of the lineup Saturday due to an ankle injury. Thomas Harding of MLB.com says he rolled his right ankle earlier in the day.



The Rockies play game two Saturday as they sit at 42-60 and in last place in the National League West. Charlie Blackmon will play right field, Drew Stubbs in center field, and Brandon Barnes in left field as Gonzalez sits out.

This season, Gonzalez has a line of .250/.300/.448 with 10 home runs, 36 RBI, 16 walks, 60 strikeouts, and a 748 OPS in 61 games. He has missed over 40 games with finger issues.

In 2013, Gonzalez had a slash of .302/.367/.591 with 26 home runs, 70 RBI, 41 salks, 118 strikeouts, and a .958 OPS in 110 games. In his 7 year career he has 135 home runs and a slash of .295/.352/.523 and an .875 OPS.

We will keep you updated on his status as he might have to return to the disabled list with an ankle injury.
