Kansas City Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer has been scratched from Monday night’s game against the Chicago White Sox with a bruised hand, reports Andy McCullough of The Kansas City Star:
Eric Hosmer has been scratched due to his hand injury from yesterday. Billy Butler will play first base. Sal Perez is DH. Let's get weird.

Hosmer appeared to suffer the injury after being hit on the hand by Jon Lester during Sunday’s game against the Boston Red Sox. Designated hitter Billy Butler will play first base Monday night, while All-Star catcher Salvador Perez will assume the DH duties.
The former third-overall pick has rarely been out of Kansas City’s lineup, playing in 159 games last season and 97 so far this year.
After a slow start, Hosmer has been swinging the bat well as of late, bringing his season line to .272/.319/.385. The Royals, now 3.5 games out of Wild Card position, are struggling offensively and can’t afford for Hosmer to miss any additional time.
