49ers Injury Update: NaVorro Bowman, Marcus Lattimore, Marcus Martin

By on 8/26/2014 08:30:00 PM

The San Francisco 49ers have lost NaVorro Bowman, Marcus Lattimore and Marcus Martin for a good chunk of time. All of these players aren't likely to be back until at least week six, at the earliest.

According to Adam Schefter, NaVorro Bowman was placed on the PUP, which automatically means he will miss the first six weeks of the season. Bowman is still recovering from his gruesome torn acl injury that happened in last year's NFC Championship Game vs. the Seattle Seahawks.

Matt Barrows tweets that Marcus Lattimore has been placed on the NFI and that the team is hopeful that he will come off by week six. It's not clear if that will actually take place though, because the team has been very cautious with him.

Also, Eric Branch has reported that rookie C Marcus Martin is expected to be sidelined for at least eight weeks. It might not be the worst thing for the rookie, though. The NFL is a tough league, and maybe it'll allow him to grasp a better understanding of the game from the sidelines.

The loss of NaVorro Bowman is obviously the injury that stands out here. The 49ers are a completely better team with Bowman. His missing presence on the field is definitely going to show up on the field for 49ers. They just have to find a way to survive without him, and it wouldn't shock many people if they did.
