By on 8/14/2014 07:00:00 AM

The Houston Astros lost to the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday by the score of 3-1. The loss dropped the Astros to 50-71, fourth in the American League West. The Astros saw the return of center fielder Dexter Fowler, who last played on June 26 due to a back injury. Fowler hit fourth in the lineup and went 1-for-3 with a walk in the losing effort.

Our own Darius Austin reported on August 12 that Fowler again played center field for the Oklahoma City RedHawks. He went 0-for-2 with a walk and was likely to return for the beginning of the Astros road trip on Thursday.

Howard Chen, who covers the Astros for, tweeted the following update on Fowler's status.
Fowler, in his seventh Major League season, is batting .271 with six home runs and 24 RBI this season. The veteran has played for the Rockies and Astros and has a career batting average of .270 with 46 home runs and 234 RBI.
