Astros Injury Update: Robbie Grossman out with ankle issue

By on 8/29/2014 11:15:00 AM

After leaving Wednesday night's game with a twisted ankle, Houston Astros outfielder Robbie Grossman was not in the lineup Thursday night, and is currently listed as day-to-day.
After a steady debut last season, where he hit .268 with four homers and 21 RBIs, Grossman has struggled to get going at the plate this season.  Once viewed as a top-100 prospect, the 24-year-old has batted just .215 in 78 games this year.  With plenty of budding talent behind him, including George Springer and Domingo Santana, it is important for Grossman to get going at the plate if he is going to see consistent playing time going forward.

The Astros are currently in the midst of a four game series against the Texas Rangers in a battle for the bottom of the American League West.  With the day off yesterday, Grossman should be expected back at some point during the remainder of the series.
