Of the six names held out of the Chicago Bears practice on Monday, right tackle Jordan Mills has the most uncertain future. Mills has yet to play to play in a preseason game and as the season gets closer, his availability remains questionable.
Throughout training camp Mills wore a walking boot, however at Monday’s practice it appeared that the boot had been removed.
“Day-to-day, that’s it,” Head Coach Mark Trestman said of Mills. “It’s really day-to-day. I can’t give you anything more than that. We’re hopeful it’s soon [he returns], but that’s all I’ve heard at this point and time and that’s the way we’ve looked at it: just day-to-day.”
It looks as though Mills may be close to a return, however there are only a few weeks left before the start of the season. If he is able, the former fifth round pick will likely recapture the starting position that he held for all of 2013.
