Blue Jays Injury Update: Adam Lind to start rehab Thursday

By on 8/06/2014 03:45:00 PM

Toronto Blue Jays designated hitter Adam Lind is expected to begin a minor-league rehab assignment later this week, reported by Shi Davidi of Sportsnet. Lind could return from his foot injury by the weekend.

As reported by our own Darius Austin, the injury came from a foul ball incident a month before the July 10 injury. The doctor then told him it would need 6-8 weeks to heal. At the time, it was told that the break was just a bone bruise. This was an awful time to hit the disabled list, because the Blue Jays had just lost Edwin Encarnacion to the same list.

While Lind was injured, but not out of the lineup, he was batting .286/.318/.429 in 17 games. He was no in pain at the plate, but he had struggled running the bases. This season with the Blue Jays, Lind is batting .320 with four homers and 27 RBI's in 61 games. He should be back in the lineup this weekend.
