Blue Jays Injury Update: Brett Lawrie activated

By on 8/05/2014 11:15:00 AM

The Toronto Blue Jays fell to the Houston Astros on Sunday by the score of 6-1. The loss dropped the Blue Jays to 60-53, four games behind the Baltimore Orioles in the American League East. The Blue Jays managed just eight hits, all singles, off Scott Feldman. There is some good news for the Jays, as Brett Lawrie has been activated from the disabled list.

Our own Darius Austin reported on August 2 that Lawrie played second base and scored two runs to help high High-A Dunedin to a 10-8 victory.

Lawrie's activation was confirmed via the team's official Twitter account.
Lawrie, in his fourth Major League season, is batting .244 with 12 home runs and 38 RBI this season.  He's set a career high in home runs and is 11 RBI away from a career high in RBI. In 344 career games, Lawrie has a batting average of .264 with 43 home runs and 157 RBI.
