Brewers Injury Update: Kyle Lohse to start Monday

By on 8/22/2014 08:30:00 PM

According to Joe Zenzola of Sportsradio 1250 WSSP, Milwaukee Brewers manager Ron Roenicke says right-handed pitcher Kyle Lohse will start Monday against the San Diego Padres.

As reported by Sports Injury Alert’s NatsLady, Lohse left after injuring his ankle in his third inning at bat of his start against the Chicago Cubs on August 13.  Lohse had been dealing with an ankle problem during a start in St. Louis on August 2. Including his August 13 start, Lohse is 11-7 with a 3.25 ERA in 25 starts this season.  Despite starting the season strong, Lohse has had trouble in his last few starts, but it is unclear if the problems on the mound are related to the same ankle problem he’s been dealing with this month.

The Brewers are in first place in the NL Central division with a 71-56 record, including going 6-4 in their last ten starts.  They start a weekend series tonight at home against the NL Central’s third place Pittsburgh Pirates, who are 6 games behind the Brewers.
