Bruins Injury Update: Milan Lucic hopes to be ready for training camp after wrist injury

By on 8/01/2014 01:00:00 PM

According to Ken Campbell of The Hockey News, Boston Bruins left wing Milan Lucic has been training as much as possible with pins he had in his wrist. The pins were inserted during a surgical repair to a jammed wrist sustained during the playoffs. Lucic will begin upper-body training now that the pins have been removed, with the hopes of being able to return to the ice for the opening of the Bruins' season.

Lucic, 26, jammed his wrist during the Bruins' playoffs campaign against the Montreal Canadiens, where Boston was eliminated. He underwent surgery to repair the wrist, and has since been working on his lower-body training. He hopes to be able to start using his wrist to begin lifting weights and preparing for the upcoming season: "I'm hoping I can get the movement back to where it was prior to the injury" says Lucic.

With 80 games played during the regular season, Lucic scored an impressive 24 goals, and 35 assists. He also had four goals and three assists in 12 playoff games.
