By on 8/31/2014 11:00:00 AM

The Arizona Diamondbacks fell to the Colorado Rockies on Saturday by the score of 2-0. The struggles continue for the Diamondbacks, who fell to 56-79 this season, fourth in the National League West. Injuries have played a key role, as nine Diamondbacks are currently on the disabled list. There is some good news on the injury front, as pitcher Daniel Hudson could return this week.

Our own Darius Austin reported on August 27 that Hudson threw a clean inning for the Reno Aces in his first rehab start at Triple-A. He's now made five one-inning appearances as his continues his recovery from Tommy John surgery.

Jack Magruder, who covers the Diamondbacks for, tweeted the following update on Hudson.
Hudson was drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 5th round of the 2008 amateur draft. He only pitched in four games for the White Sox in 2009 and 2010 before moving on to the Diamondbacks.  In 2011, Hudson was a 16 game winner and posted an ERA of 3.49.  Hudson pitched in only nine games in 2012 and hasn't pitched since due to the injury.  In 62 career games, his record is 28-17 with a 3.68 ERA.
