By on 8/14/2014 11:15:00 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers lost a 3-2 decision to the Atlanta Braves on Wednesday night to drop to 69-53 on the season. Hold a five-game lead over the San Francisco Giants in the National League West, the Dodgers have been lead by a strong pitching staff that is fifth in the Major Leagues in ERA. The staff has been impressive, particularly considering the fact that four pitchers are on the 60-day disabled list and two others on the 15-day DL. One of the injured is Stephen Fife, who underwent Tommy John surgery.

According to the official Twitter feed of the Los Angeles Dodgers,
Fife, a 27-year old right-hander, has pitched parts of the past three seasons with the Dodgers. In his only appearance this season, he allowed four earned runs on seven hits, walked one and struck out five in six innings of work. Last season, Fife 4-4 with a 3.86 ERA in 58 1/3 innings. Fife has a career record of 4-6 with a 3.66 ERA, in 18 games.
