Dodgers Injury Update: Yasiel Puig sits after complaining of sore back

By on 8/11/2014 09:15:00 AM

The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday by the score of 5-1. The win improved the Dodgers to 67-52, four and a half games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West. The Dodgers pounded out 14 hits, including three from Miguel Rojas and two each from Adrian Gonzalez, Matt Kemp, Jose Uribe and Carl Crawford. The Dodgers were without Yasiel Puig due to a sore back.

Bill Plunkett, who covers the Dodgers for the Orange County Register, tweeted the following on Puig.
Andre Ethier went 1-for-5 in place of Puig and is batting .247 with four home runs and 39 RBI in 99 games this season. There is no word as to whether or not Puig will be back in the lineup today against the Braves. Expect Ethier to get the start if Puig cannot play.

Puig, in his second Major League season, is batting .311 with 13 home runs and 55 RBI in 108 games. He has a career average of .315 with 32 home runs, 97 RBI and 18 stolen bases in 212 games.
