The Los Angeles Dodgers defeated the San Diego Padres on Tuesday by the score of 8-6. The win improved the Dodgers to 71-56, four and a half games ahead of the San Francisco Giants in the National League West. Kevin Correia got the win despite allowing four earned runs and eight hits in five innings of work. There is some concerning news on the injury front, as right-handed pitcher Zack Greinke could miss his next start due to an elbow issue.

As reported by Ken Gurnick of, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly said that it's only a "possibility" that Greinke makes his next scheduled start tomorrow. Greinke has been dealing with a sore elbow for the past three weeks, not throwing bullpen sessions, opting to throw on flat ground.

There is no word yet as to who would replace Greinke on Thursday, although rookie Carlos Frias, who pitched four innings in relief on Sunday, could be a possibility.

Greinke, in his 11th Major League season, is 12-8 with a 2.70 ERA. In 157 1/3 innings, he's struck out 170 and walked only 35.  The two-time All Star and 2009 American League Cy Young Award winner, has pitched for the Royals, Brewers, Angels and Dodgers and has a career record of 118-90 with a 3.57 ERA.
