Dolphins Injury Update: Mike Wallace, Charles Clay, Knowshon Moreno

By on 8/14/2014 07:00:00 PM

The Miami Dolphins got some good news on the Mike Wallace front: the 28-year-old is expected to be on the field this weekend when the team faces Tampa Bay. Charles Clay and Knowshon Moreno, however, likely will not be.

Adam Beasley of the Miami Herald tweeted Wallace said he will in fact be on the field Saturday. Wallace had been limited at times during training camp this offseason with a hamstring injury, but it does not appear that it will keep him out of action this week.

The news is not as promising for tight end Charles Clay. Clay underwent arthroscopic knee surgery during the offseason and apparently re-aggravated that same knee during a training camp scrimmage. Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin said he wasn't sure when Clay would return.

“He’s day-to-day,” Philbin said. “We’ll see how it goes.”

Meanwhile, running back Knowshon Moreno will not play in the team's second preseason affair, Ian Rapoport of reported via Twitter.

Moreno has been bothered by a knee injury that forced him onto the physically unable to perform list to start training camp. He came off that list late last week and practiced for the first time Monday.

“He’s looking better,” Philbin said. “I think he’s looking more comfortable with the offense and the reps and so forth. We’re going to watch the tape and we’ll see.”
