Eagles Injury Update: LeSean McCoy not held back in practice

By on 8/25/2014 05:30:00 PM

Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy was able to participate in practice yesterday. There was a little concern about McCoy after he left Thursday's preseason game Thursday night against the Pittsburgh Steelers. He injured his thumb on a play and came out of the game, but he seems fine.

According to's Zach Berman, McCoy's X-rays revealed that he didn't have a fractured thumb or any ligament damage. Berman also says that the Eagles are going to hold out McCoy and the rest of the starters in the team's final preseason game vs. the New York Jets.

McCoy also had an injured big left toe, but it's "feeling good" and doesn't see it being an issue going further.

It looks to be a smart move by Chip Kelly to hold out all his starters for the last preseason game. They've looked pretty sharp all preseason, especially the last preseason game vs. the Steelers where they outscored the Steelers 17-0 at half. The Eagles look like a team ready to get this season rolling, and it's probably going to be a good one, as long as they can stay healthy.
