Flames Injury Update: Hiller should recover quick from appendicitis attack

By on 8/01/2014 02:00:00 PM

In July, Calgary Flames goaltender Jonas Hiller underwent a minor procedure for appendicitis. According to Ryan Dadoun of NBC Sports, he should recover quickly, soon enough to attend training camp. Hiller will be a new member of the Flames, hoping to make a comeback.

Hiller suffered from appendicitis while training in Switzerland mid-last month, and underwent an appendectomy. According to Calgary GM Brad Treliving, the recovery time of the procedure is around 9-12 days. Hiller should not be effected by the procedure by the time training camp begins.

The veteran goalie only started 50 games for Anaheim during the last regular season, resulting in 29 wins and 13 regulation losses. In the playoffs, Hiller started six games and had two wins. He hopes to start more games and have more wins with his new contract with Calgary.
